Please bring a conflict schedule that is as complete as possible. A tentative rehearsal schedule will be available at auditions, but it is important for the casting team to know what weekly conflicts look like for each child auditioning. Auditioning for a Lead:
This show has many moving parts, and our time together during auditions is so short, so here are a few things you should know if you are interested in auditioning for a lead.
First, if you choose to audition for Mary Poppins, Bert, Jane Banks, or Michael Banks we do need to take weight into consideration for safety purposes regarding flying.
Mary Poppins- 200 lbs Max
Bert- 200 lbs Max
Jane & Michael- 200 lbs Max combined
If you choose to audition for one of these roles, please check the line on the audition rubric and one of the volunteers will weigh you at the audition privately.
Second, those auditioning for a lead should come prepared with the following predetermined sections ready to sing.
- Bert: Let’s Go Fly a Kite- First Verse and First Chorus
- George Banks: Good For Nothing- First Verse
- Winifred Banks: Being Mrs. Banks- Whole Song (aside from George Banks’ intro)
- Jane Banks: Perfect Nanny- Whole Song
- Michael Banks: Perfect Nanny- Whole Song
- Mary Poppins: Practically Perfect- First Verse and First Chorus (Stop right before “Both prim and proper…”)
- Miss Andrew: Brimstone and Treacle (Part 1)- First Verse (through “Brimstone and treacle will work…”)
