He was part of the restoration efforts after Hurricane Irene. When he was hired full-time, he was able to continue his education through the Recreation Department. He is a Certified Play Structure Inspector and Certified Pool Operator. He has completed two years’ worth of courses at Maintenance Management School at Oglebay in West Virginia. He has completed the Pool Operator and Certified Play Structure Courses. In 2003, Bob became the Parks Director and has found his work in the Maintenance Department to be highly rewarding. Many parks and facilities have seen complete makeovers under his supervision, including the refrigeration of Giorgetti Ice Arena and the new White Memorial Park Pool. During Hurricane Irene in 2011, the Recreation Department experienced great damage to many parks, Bob and his team worked endlessly to see that the fields and parks were restored. He started out managing and maintaining Rotary Park’s outdoor ice rinks, and was instrumental in the opening of Giorgetti Ice Arena. At Giorgetti, Jeff was the lead Skating Instructor while also managing the Rink. In the early 80’s Jeff moved over to work at the Godnick Adult Center where he coordinated and supervised the trips for twenty years. It was not until the early 2000’s when Jeff joined our Maintenance Department. During the Winter you can find Jeff at Giorgetti Arena caring for the ice, but Jeff’s true passion is getting softball, baseball and little league fields ready for game day! Each one is unique! The Northeast gardens have a range of sizes with trails right off the gardens. The Northwest garden is in the middle of a neighborhood and has 16 plots available in 4 raised beds. The Northwest garden has only rain water collection on-site. The fee to rent ranges from $10 - $40 - depending on the size of the plot. Non-residents add $11 to the fee. A refundable clean-up deposit of $10-$25 is required. Registration for Rutland City residents starts March 1st and April 2nd for non-residents. In addition, Stephanie has over 300 additional hours of yoga training spanning a wide range of specialties including yin and restorative yoga, yoga for children, trauma-sensitive yoga and yoga for mental health, Sivananda Ayurvedic Yoga, and yoga dance. In January 2020, Stephanie completed a 300 hour advanced training at Heart of the Village in Manchester, Vermont. Stephanie loves to share her passion for yoga with others, and strives to constantly grow as a student and teacher through daily practice. She is also an avid dancer, primarily focusing on modern dance, belly dance, and conscious dance practices. When she is not practicing yoga or dancing, you can usually find Stephanie in a garden, in the water, spending time with her partner George and their cats, reading, or knitting.
