The Rutland Recreation and Parks Department offers 3 divisions of football in the fall. 

DIVISION A:This is a non-contact flag football league for boys & girls in grades 3 and 4. Teams are coached by volunteer coaches and will play a set schedule of games. Practices will be held scheduled and led by each team's volunteer head coach. Registration is open in late July and closes in late August. Participants are assigned a team through an evaluation and draft process to promote appropriate competition. Games will be held Sundays afternoons and Tuesday evenings at Monsignor Connor Thomas Park beginning Sunday after Labor Day and finishing the end of October.

DIVISION BThis is a non-contact flag football league for boys and girls in grades 5 and 6. Teams are coached by volunteer coaches and will play a set schedule of games. Practices will be held scheduled and led by each team's volunteer head coach. Registration is open in late July and closes in late August. Participants are assigned a team through an evaluation and draft process to promote appropriate competition. DIVISION C: The Recreation Department participates in the Southwest Vermont Middle School Football League. This is a full equipment tackle football league for boys and girls in grades 7 and 8. Enrollment is limited and the Rutland Recreation Department reserves the right to deny participation for safety reasons. Participants will be placed on a team representing Rutland Recreation and Parks and coached by a qualified tackle football head coach and supporting coaching staff. Practices will be held every weekday beginning the 2nd full week in August to ensure the team is prepared for competition. The season runs through late October. The game schedule is created by the league and is made available in late August. Registration for this division begins in the spring and finishes the first week in August.
