Program Director

Rutland Recreation & Parks Department is looking for a knowledgeable, energetic and creative recreation professional with a passion for working with the community.  The ideal candidate understands and appreciates running an ice arena, scheduling of youth /adult programs and events, races,  and is ready to be an integral part of our community.

Rutland is a year-round outdoor recreation destination and has an active farm to table movement. Our downtown restaurants, performing arts center and pubs are well known regionally and our schools are excellent. As the position is interwoven into the community we prefer a candidate who is ready to call Rutland home.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in recreation management, sports management or related field; three years related experience and/or training in ice arenas and aquatics; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid Vermont driver’s license required. Certified Park & Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred. Full-time position with a starting salary of $45,293 with excellent benefits.
