Kiwanis Bike Rodeo

SUNDAY MAY 21, 2017

Each year the Rutland Kiwanis Club, the Killington/Pico Cycling Club and the Rutland Recreation and Parks Department have teamed up to offer a free event to promote bike safety. The Bike Rodeo is open to any children under the age of 13. Those attending should bring their bike and have it tuned by the wonderful volunteers with the Killington/Pico Cycling Club. While their bike is being tuned the kids can be fitted for a helmet, provided by the Rutland Kiwanis Club, that they will be able to take home with them. Bike tuned, helmet on, they are ready for the bike course! Using chalk, stop signs, and cones a course is set up to simulate riding a bike on the road. Volunteers will be there to help guide bikers through the rules of riding on the road (which directions to go, when to stop, how to take turns, etc.). Food/snacks and drinks will be provided free to participants, courtesy of the Rutland Kiwanis Club.

We hope to see you this year!
